Find a niche for your blog

If you are new to blogging and just starting out, the first thing you should determine when writing for your blog is to find a “niche”. A niche is, by definition, a specific area of interest or a specialised topic which you feel you are an expert in. It is preferable that your selected niche is something that you feel strongly or are passionate about. Of course there will be no issues if you are blogging for a totally new niche that you are unfamiliar with, but it might cause problems for you later on if you get bored about it or run out of ideas on what to blog about for that niche.

Ensuring what “niche” you are prepared to write for on your blog is quite important in ensuring that you may reap the rewards later. There are several articles written discussing this issue. Part 1 of this series discusses on the issue of how to choose your niche and Part 2 talks about qualifying your niche. Incidentally Darren Prowse also talked about the issue, giving an example between a general niche and a specific niche.

I would recommend those interested to peruse these articles in order to determine their specific niche.
